Preserving, supporting and enriching Luss Estates' diverse eco-systems is at the heart of the Company's activities, nowhere more so than on the islands of Loch Lomond.
The unique flora, fauna and environments of Inchconnachan, Inchmoan, Inchtavanach and Inchlonaig have ensured their recognition as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSIs), Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) and Special Protection Areas (SPAs).
As guardians of these islands it is our privilege and duty to effectively manage such sensitive areas, ensuring they continue to provide rich habitats for species such as capercailzie, ospreys, otters and fallow deer whilst maintaining accessibility.
We are currently working in partnership with agencies including Scottish Natural Heritage, the Forestry Commission and Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park to implement a Conservation Plan. It is hoped this will include the development of an eco-tourism facility on the islands.
In the meantime, if you wish to visit any of the islands of Loch Lomond please abide by the National Park by-laws, take home your litter and be respectful of the wildlife. These are wonderful, unique places to be treasured.
