Experience the Magic of the Luss Highland Gathering - Saturday 5th July 2025
Whether you're a local, a long-time visitor, or discovering the area for the first time, we invite you to the Luss Highland Gathering, a much-loved celebration of Scottish heritage set in the heart of our beautiful village.
Join us on Saturday 5th July, from 10 am to 5 pm, at the scenic Luss Games Field, where tradition and community spirit come alive. First held in 1875, the Gathering has become a vibrant summer highlight; welcoming families, athletes, pipers, dancers, and members of Clan Colquhoun from all over the world.
Enjoy a thrilling day of traditional Highland Games, from the caber toss and hammer throw to our ever-popular tug o’ war and hill races. There’s something for everyone, with light-hearted competitions and children’s events running throughout the day. Feel the music of the pipes and the rhythm of Highland dancing echo through the glen, as competitors showcase their skill and spirit.
Make a day of it and enjoy a wide selection of food and drink on-site, with something to suit every taste. From traditional Scottish fare and BBQ favourites to artisan coffee, sweet treats, and local produce, there’s plenty to keep you fuelled throughout the festivities. A licensed bar will also be serving refreshing drinks all day; perfect for soaking up the summer atmosphere with friends and family.
Just 25 miles north of Glasgow, Luss is easy to reach by car via the A82, or by scenic boat from Balmaha or Tarbet, perfectly timed to bring you to the heart of the action. Parking is available nearby for £5 per day (250–300 spaces), and regular buses also serve the village.
