The first Luss Highland Gathering was held in 1875 and has been held annually since, except for a break during the two World Wars. It owns its inception to the enthusiasm of local farmers and sportsmen, and has over the years become a symbol of local sporting endeavour and community spirit. It has also become the focus of the annual gathering of the Clan Colquhoun, bringing with it an influx of visitors from distant lands seeking their heritage.

The Helensburgh & Lomond Highland Games is a family friendly event that celebrates all things Scottish, featuring modern & traditional sporting events including Highland Dancing, Athletics and of course, Caber tossing.

Although the Helensburgh Highland Games date back as far as 1889, they were resurrected in 2008 and have been growing from strength to strength & even featured on BBC 1's The One Show in 2011.
