Keeping Luss, Arrochar & Tarbet Clean

Luss Estates Company remains committed to maintaining the cleanliness and natural beauty of Luss, Arrochar, and Tarbet.

We continue to take responsibility for areas well beyond our direct ownership, with our full-time Warden based in Luss carrying out daily litter picking on Argyll & Bute Council land, often stepping in to do the work that others cannot.

In addition, our Estate Team, led by CEO Simon Miller, dedicates one morning each month to litter picking across the Estate. From the shores of Loch Lomond to village roadsides and public paths, the team regularly remove waste left behind by visitors.

Over the past year, hundreds of bags of litter have been collected, along with larger abandoned items such as tents, chairs, clothing, and tyres. This not only damages the landscape but also poses a serious threat to wildlife and the wider environment.

Littering is completely unacceptable. It shows a lack of respect for the people who live and work here, and for the visitors who come to enjoy the area’s natural beauty.

We are grateful to our team for their ongoing hard work and commitment to keeping the area clean, and we urge everyone; residents and visitors alike, to take responsibility for their waste and help protect Loch Lomond and its surroundings for future generations.
